At the Professor Rajendra Singh Science Exploratory (PRSSE), we believe that science is more than just a subject—it's a way of life. Our mission is to inspire and educate young minds to appreciate science and explore the world in exciting ways. Established in 2015, PRSSE provides hands-on experience across various scientific disciplines, including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Astronomy, Mathematics, and Design Thinking. Unlike traditional experiments, which often focus on predefined outcomes, our exploratory approach encourages students to think critically, ask questions, and engage in open-ended investigations. This fosters a deeper understanding of scientific concepts and cultivates a spirit of inquiry. Our dedicated team of trainers, advisors and experts is committed to creating an engaging learning environment for all students. Whether you're a budding scientist or simply curious, we have something for everyone! Over the years, students enrolled in various programs offered by the exploratory have achieved significant success in embracing science, paving the way for their future aspirations.
Our Objectives
- To promote scientific literacy and critical thinking skills in view of National Education Policy 2020.
- To provide opportunities for students to develop scientific knowledge and skills.
- To encourage students to pursue a career in science and technology.
- To prepare students for International and national science and mathematics competitions.
- To provide a platform to interact with renowned science educators and scientists.
Our Inspiration: Professor Rajendra Singh
Rajendra Singhji was a professor of physics at the University of Allahabad. He was born in 1922 in a small village in Uttar Pradesh. He studied physics at the University of Allahabad and then served the university as Professor from 1945 to 1965. After post graduation with a major in Physics, he joined Allahabad University as a teacher of spectroscopy. He continued to teach at the university for several years and was eventually appointed head of the Physics Department. He was a popular teacher who explained complex concepts with simplicity and clarity. During the MSc final practical exams, Rajendra Singh, also known as Rajju Bhaiyya, received high praise from Nobel laureate C.V. Raman, who remarked that he had never seen such a clear-headed and practical student before. Singh had scored a perfect 100 on the exam, which Raman had personally examined, and had placed second in his MSc class. Despite Raman's invitation to join him in Bengaluru, Singh politely declined and instead chose to pursue research under his guru at Allahabad University while also teaching there. He was also considered an expert in nuclear physics, a rare field in India at the time. He served as RSS Sarsanghchalak (Chief) from 1994 to 2000. He passed away in 2003 in Pune.
Our Infrastructure
The exploratory has three separate laboratories and a classroom spanning a built-up area of 4500 sq. ft. The laboratories have modern exhibits and equipment to conduct hands-on experiments in Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Electronics, Mathematics, and Biology. Additionally, there is an open space for sky-watching and astronomy events. Exploratory also has an ICT-enabled classroom and a wide collection of books on science and mathematics. Equipped with advanced scientific instrumentation including some setups of International Science Olympiads and cutting-edge laboratory equipment, exploratory provides unmatched opportunities for hands-on scientific exploration beyond the classroom. These equipment help students to work as a researcher, get involved in collaborative projects, and develop creativity and problem-solving skills that go far beyond the lab. With the existing infrastructure, students can discover the depths of science and unlock opportunities for a lifetime of learning.
